Creating a Platform Competency
- Click "New Competency"
- Fill in:
- Name — clear, distinct (e.g., "Analytical Thinking")
- Category — Behavioral, Situational, Technical, or Post-Hire
- Description — 1-2 sentences on what this measures
- Status — Active (visible to employers) or Draft (not yet ready)
- Behavioral anchors — 5 levels, each describing observable behavior
- Click Save
Anchor Writing Tips
- Level 1: Complete absence of evidence or fundamentally flawed response
- Level 2: Minimal or unclear evidence, lacks specifics
- Level 3: Meets expectations — solid, specific, but not exceptional
- Level 4: Exceeds expectations — strong evidence with impact
- Level 5: Exceptional — specific metrics, novel approach, outstanding impact
Key: The gap between adjacent levels must be distinguishable by the scorer. If levels 3 and 4 are too similar, scoring reliability drops.
Editing Anchors
Click any competency → edit modal opens → modify anchors → Save. This updates the competency for all future interviews. Existing scorecards that used the old anchors are not retroactively changed.
